Plodding

I wish there was something a little more exciting to report. Currently just trying to flesh out portions of the script that deal with a live gunfight. Also I'm doing some research and scouting on different locations to film said gunfight.

Additionally I'm working on getting the logistics in place for song recording. The Holt family of Kaysville, UT are fiddlers and have a great sound. They have agreed to let us use some of their music for our show. I've talked to my brother, Brian who is an audio tech, and he has agreed to come up and help us get them recorded. Things are falling in to place, but still need a lot of planning.

Roger has also been busy and has already gotten gunfighter research into my hands. Otherwise that is the gist of where we currently are.

Solid research for a solid documentary

I've had a wonderful evening with Roger Blomquist and our families. Roger has a PhD in History and teaches at Utah Valley University. We initially asked Roger for an interview, but after discovering what an asset he could be to this and future productions we have chosen to bring Roger on as the Associate Producer for Gunfighters: Living the Legend. As the Associate Producer, Roger will oversee all the historical research for our projects. Additionally with his connections and experience we will gain access to many additional experts to interview.

Anyone interested in learning more about Roger can visit his web site. http://www.deseretsaddlery.com/

Across the seas and close to home

I've been working on a couple of things. I just sent of interview questions to a group of gunfighters in London. Yup, the Old West has far reaches. Members of the Santa Fe Gunfighters have graciously agreed to participate in our production, giving us a world view I didn't think we could get when we started. Initial thanks to Les and Gemma for their help up to now and their willingness to help gather information for us.

Closer to home, I've been in contact with historian Roger Blomquist. I'll be meeting with him soon to discuss the project and set up a schedule to interview him as well, to get a historical look at the real Old West as we then juxtapose that against today's Gunfighters and how we are keeping the idea of the old west alive by living the legend.
